Papa Dia to speak at School of Mines MLK Day luncheon

The Colorado School of Mines Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon and Awards Ceremony on January 18 will feature African Leadership Group Founder and Executive Director Papa Dia as its guest speaker.

While in-person attendance is limited, people interested in attending the event virtually can register here. ALG encourages all members of our community to take advantage of this option.

In his speech, Papa will illustrate the connections between Dr. King, African liberation, civil rights, and Papa’s own life story. He came to the U.S. as a penniless young man and worked his way to a successful banking career and later as a leading nonprofit leader and advocate for the African immigrant and African American communities.

Papa believes strongly that any success he has enjoyed in the U.S. would not have been possible without Dr. King’s nonviolent, revolutionary movement for civil rights.

We hope you will register and attend this important event.
