The 11th annual Afrik Impact celebration is almost upon us! This year’s theme is Many Roots, One Colorado.
This is ALG’s 20th anniversary, as well as the 150th birthday of Colorado and the 250th birthday of the United States of America. Even in these troubled times, there is much to celebrate.
Beginning July 24th and concluding on August 15th, Afrik Impact is a celebration you will not want to miss. See below for full details and registration information for each event.
We want to call special attention this year to our Cultural Day Celebration, which is taking place on Saturday, August 8th, from 3:00 to 9:00 pm at the Levitt Pavilion. Here is a promotional video about the event.
As ALG Founder and Executive Director Papa Dia explains in the video, this event is free and open to the public. You can register here.
There will be vendors, a food truck providing African cuisine, a walk of nations, an Ethiopian dance troupe, and two stellar musical performance. The headliner will be Canadian recording star Elage Diouf (see a video here). The opening act will be Colorado’s own Blessing Bled Chimanga, originally from Zimbabwe (see video here).

Youth Empowerment Celebration
