First English class graduation was an inspiring moment

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the African Leadership Group celebrated the graduation of its first English class.

This program, which began in early January 2024, was designed to help newcomers and immigrants improve their English skills. Over the course of the year, the group witnessed incredible progress from its students.

At the start, many participants could barely write their names. By graduation, they were able to write sentences and paragraphs—a testament to their hard work and dedication. The ceremony honored 44 graduates and featured heartfelt testimonials from students, showcasing the dramatic improvement they achieved.

After the formal program, attendees enjoyed a vibrant cultural celebration with music, dancing, food, and lively conversations, highlighting the power of community and cultural exchange.

This success would not have been possible without the dedication of the volunteer teachers and the unwavering support of community members.

As we believe, “If you’re a smart person in Africa, wherever else you go, you’re still a smart person.”

This milestone is a proud moment for everyone involved and a step forward in empowering individuals through education.
