AFRIK IMPACT GALA

Saturday, August 16th

As anyone who has attended the African Leadership Group’s Afrik Impact in the past knows well, our Annual Gala is always the month-long celebration's final event. Attendees dress to impress, rub elbows with VIPs, eat great food, and dance the night away.

In addition to providing good times for all who attend, the gala serves another important purpose : It is our major fundraising event of the year. ALG is a nonprofit organization. We depend on philanthropy and fundraising to pay for vitally important programs.

Gala ticket sales and sponsorships are two ways we fundraise for the event. But there is a third, equally important fundraising avenue: the paddle-raise. At the gala, while everyone is seated for dinner, you will have the opportunity to raise the paddle you will be provided to make as generous a donation as you can possible afford. We ask you to give this some thought in advance, and to come to the gala to reach deep into your wallets and donate to ALG during the paddle raise. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

Limited tickets available—don’t miss out!

VIP Reception 6 to 7 PM
Fundraising Gala 7 to 9 PM

19 Years of Providing Economic, Social and Educational Programs to the African Diaspora Community

The African Leadership Group (ALG) is an established 19-year-old Colorado nonprofit created to serve and improve the quality of life of the African diaspora community. We do this through social, education, and economic programs such as youth empowerment, public speaking and leadership classes reaching thousands of individuals. Every year during the month of August, we host a major community event, Afrik Impact, to celebrate loudly and proudly the impact the African diaspora have on the state of Colorado. During our 2019-2023 Afrik Impact celebrations, we were both proud and honored to have the Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, issue an honorary proclamation establishing the month of August as African Immigrant Month in the state of Colorado. We would like to invite you to join us as a sponsor at our 10th Annual Afrik Impact celebration.

Mission & Purpose

Mission: To celebrate the impact of the African diaspora in the state of Colorado and to honor our accomplishments. Purpose: With a focus on social, educational and economic impact, the African Leadership Group hosts a major Fundraising event each year. The purpose of this event is to celebrate our collective accomplishments, recognize our community champions, and cast the vision for our next year of policy and advocacy work. In addition, Afrik Impact is part of our public persuasion campaign to have the State of Colorado issue a proclamation to officially establish August as African Immigrant Month. In all of this, we celebrate loud and proud, the positive impact of African people in Colorado and honor our contributions. This year’s theme is “Connecting Communities, Cultures and Continents”.
