With a focus on social, educational and economic impact, the African Leadership Group hosts a major community event to celebrate the impact of the African Diaspora in Colorado and to honor our accomplishments.
The ultimate goal of the committee is to assist ALG members and our community to better themselves economically and therefore the state of Colorado at large.
Since its earliest days, ALG has worked to provide networking, career development, and economic advancement opportunities to its members.
ALG’s Health and Wellness initiatives aim to improve greater health and well-being within African diaspora communities by facilitating greater access to critical services and quality care through advocacy and strategic partnerships, as well as building awareness and education among community members about key health issues and preventive measures.
The program encourages participants to take on greater community and professional leadership roles by creating a valuable opportunity for gaining critical leadership skills, building self-awareness, personal development and professional growth, and learning about local systems and institutions.
The purpose of the Public Speaking initiative is to meet the objectives outlined in ALG’s mission statement – helping the African diaspora integrate and prosper by connecting cultures, developing strong community leaders, and advocating for economic, social and educational impact.
The African Leadership Group designs and implements community-driven programming to address the root causes of challenges faced within the African diaspora communities in Colorado.
ALG is an established Colorado nonprofit of 15 years created to serve the entire African immigrant community to help improve their quality of life. We do it through social, education and economic programs such as youth empowerment and public speaking classes reaching thousands of individuals. Every year during the month of August, we celebrate loudly and proudly the impact African immigrants have in the state of Colorado.
