Public Speaking Class Kickoff – Cohort 12

African Leadership Group (ALG) Public Speaking Committee is excited to announce that we are launching our 12th Cohort, Public Speaking Class. This class is a 12-week program that will begin on November 29, 2022.
Sessions will be held in person at the African Leadership Group Center, 10700 E. Evans Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014.
This program is part of our Leadership Initiative, organized to meet the needs of individuals in the local community. This rigorous program helps participants develop and strengthen their speaking skills for a variety of situations in which formal and informal presentations are required.
The goal of this class is to assist each individual student in his or her battle to overcome fears and build content, character and confidence.
The course format will include, but is not limited to: readings, discussions, presentations, and ongoing opportunities to practice speaking in front of a group for feedback and active learning.
Topics will include cultural and generational discussions, overcoming the fear of public speaking, grammar, perceptions of and by others, speech preparation and delivery, and the techniques of oral presentation and persuasion.
