ALG is a Colorado nonprofit established in 2006 to serve the entire African immigrant community to help improve their quality of life. We do it through social, education and economic programs such as youth empowerment and public speaking classes reaching thousands of individuals. Every year during the month of August, we celebrate loudly and proudly the impact African immigrants have in the state of Colorado.

ALG Youth Empowerment

This group was designed to provide a space for our children and youth who are 2nd generation immigrants. In this group, students are able to discuss about their struggles with identity and challenges in school, at home and in their communities.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of ALG’s vision and mission and the impact the organization has on the community.

Understand cultural trends that influence and affect adolescents and their families. and know how to obtain and use tools to implement change and be a good representative of their communities.

Create multi-generational relational programs and curriculum that enable a sense of curiosity and wonder.

Be challenged to live beyond the status quo be actively involved in seeking information that will help them grow not only as individuals but as citizens of the world.
