Thank you for taking the time to complete this application for Leadership Africa! We are excited to learn about you and grateful for your interest in the program. A couple things to note before you begin:
1. This application form cannot be saved part way through, and must be completed in one sitting. It is therefore recommended that you make sure you have at least 1 hour or more to complete it before beginning.
2. Please note that you will need to contact your references separately, and ask them to send us a letter of recommendation directly by email no later than the extended deadline date of Friday, January 24, 2025. Detailed instructions are provided for this in the "References" section of below.
3. There is a $20 non-refundable application fee, which you will be asked to pay after completing the form.
****The application fee will cover the administrative fees for the selection process. If selected for the program, your application fee will be applied towards your program tuition of $250.00. If you are not selected for the program, please note that the $20 application fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Please note that we expect this application process to be very competitive. The cohort will include between 30 to 40 participants, and we anticipate receiving a high volume of applications. For this reason, we encourage you to take this application process seriously, and carefully consider your answers to the questions below.
Any files that are uploaded will be shared outside of the organization they belong to.
Please keep your answers to 500 words or less for each question. You may upload your essays in a single document OR enter each one in the areas below.
The goal of Leadership Africa is to engage participants and develop strong leaders in their respective communities.
Please identify and reach out to two references (one personal and one professional) who will provide us with letters of recommendation on your behalf. These letters should include a description of why the reference thinks you are an excellent candidate for this program, their knowledge of your leadership competencies and potential, as well as any other details about you that support your candidacy for a rigorous, 9-month leadership development program.
Please provide both of your references with the following information: Letters of recommendation should be sent to leadershipafrica@usalg.org and must be received no later than January 31, 2025 (midnight). The subject line should read: “Letter of recommendation for [insert name] for Leadership Africa”
