ALG is an established Colorado nonprofit of 15 years created to serve the entire African immigrant community to help improve their quality of life. We do it through social, education and economic programs such as youth empowerment and public speaking classes reaching thousands of individuals. Every year during the month of August, we celebrate loudly and proudly the impact African immigrants have in the state of Colorado.

Naquetta Ricks paves the way for generations to come
This was a triumphant election day for African immigrants in Colorado. We got to witness one of our community members,Naquetta Ricks, get elected as Colorado state representative for the House District 40.
African immigrants broke through barriers in the 2020 election
This election saw many firsts: First woman vice president, first Muslim Colorado state legislator. And among those first, across the country, were many African Immigrants elected to office.

The electoral college, in its current design is clearly not working for many Americans. It presents many challenges. But a national popular vote poses challenges as well.
