By now, you may have seen a TV ad about the U.S. Census, or maybe even received a letter inviting you to fill it out. You might still have questions about the census.
Simply put, the census is a national headcount that takes place once every 10 years. The census is mandated by the United States Constitution, in Article 1, Section 2. Every home should receive an invitation to respond to a short questionnaire either online, by phone, or by mail between March 12-20, 2020. But even though those dates have passed, it is not too late to fill out your form.
Why is ALG encouraging you to fill it out?
The data provided by the census is critical. For the next 10 years, lawmakers, business owners, community leaders and many others will rely on it to provide daily services, products, and support for you and your community. The census determines how hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other much-needed resources are funded.
As an organization that works for you and with you, we are always pleased to hear you ask, “how can we get involved?” Well, the answer is easy. Fill out the census! By filling out the census, this will help:
