DESCRIPTION:In 1977\, Colorado Black Women for Political Action (CBWPA)\, the brainchild of former State Senator Gloria Tanner\, was founded by 13 women who wanted to encourage African-American participation in the political process and serve as a political advocate for the African-American community.\nToday\, the organization’s steadfast commitment to the vision of its founders is evident through its programs and services. Its members seek\, daily\, to infuse Colorado politics with the strength and perspective of the Black woman.\nThe 47th Annual Tribute to Black Women Luncheon | 2025 (October 4th) is a distinguished event celebrating the achievements and contributions of Black women in Colorado and beyond. This year’s luncheon continues the organization’s longstanding tradition of honoring Black women leaders who have made significant impacts in their communities.
