ALG advocates on behalf of African immigrants who have become entangled in the United States’ criminal justice system, and who struggle to access fair treatment and adequate representation. They support racial justice and immigration reform through by helping to raise funds for quality legal representation and helping community members connect with appropriate legal services. ALG utilize various social media platforms to raise awareness about legal injustice, and the impact on African immigrants. They also work collaboratively with other immigrant rights organizations in the Denver metro area to push for immigration reform, as well as fair and humane treatment under the law.
Tayo Okunade is an experienced attorney who handles litigation matters for clients across a number of industries. He has appeared before state and federal courts, as well as administrative courts. In his multidisciplinary practice he has litigated cases involving employment discrimination, wrongful termination, breach of contract and other business and contract disputes, probate disputes and franchise disputes. Tayo also counsels clients on business contract matters, including without limitation, employment contracts, employee handbook, severance and separation agreements, memorandum of understanding, teaming agreements, operating agreements and other business-related matters.
Tayo graduated from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law and started his legal career as a hearing officer at the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment where he presided over unemployment benefits appeals hearings. Tayo also worked as an attorney in the Denver office of a national law firm prior to going out on his own, and starting Okunade, LLP. Tayo takes a clear and creative approach to every case and seeks to empower his clients and to provide representation that is practical and personal to each client’s specific situation.
